Tasting notes:
The word that kept repeating itself in our initial notes for this wine was “deep”. Deep ruby colour. Deep dark fruit. Deep flavours. This is a serious wine, and shows it. There are almost prune-like aromatics initially, with damson, plum, black cherry and blackberry, layered and complex, followed by hazelnut, nutmeg, a hint of mace. The palate reveals ripe berry fruit, a touch of sweet balsamic, and then some allspice and vanilla. Fresh, but very ripe, a wine for contemplation. (Siobhan Turner MW)
