Tasting notes:

A collaboration between the Barry family and Ernie Loosen of Mosel fame (and expertise), this wine is made from vines planted in one block of the Lodge Hill vineyard in 1979. The wine is matured in large (3000l) oak foudres. Pale lemon-green in hue, the wine displays green fruit and white apricots with accents of delicate orange and lime blossoms and stony minerality.  Just off-dry in style, the wine is light-bodied but has great intensity across the palate. Pure Riesling flavours are well-balanced by bracing acidity. An excellent match for poached plaice in an herb butter sauce. [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
