Ned-in-a-Can is a new initiative from New Zealand producer Marisco Vineyards. Designed for portability, stability and sustainability, this format suits the wine very, very nicely. Very pale baby pink in hue, the wine shows gentle strawberry and raspberry fruit and a crushed yellow rose and orange blossom overlay. Nearly dry (5.5g/l r.s.) and with a hint of spritz to preserve freshness, the palate is light-bodied, showing crisp acidity to balance the juicy fruit with a hint of limestone and a touch of underlying earthiness. Really attractive, the wine will work well with grilled prawn skewers at a \'Beach-Barbecue\' or an informal Garden Party. [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
