Pilletteri Estates Family Reserve Cabernet Franc Ice Wine is an unusual and intriguing Niagara speciality. Made under the direction of winemaker Aleksandar Kolundzic, this wine is a great example of the style. Medium vieux rose-hued with tawny lights, the wine displays dried cranberry, blackberry jam and plum with spice and rose petal accents. Sweet (208 g/l r.s.), the palate has a plethora of red berries and dried flowers with crisp acidity, good varietal definition and a lingering finish. The wine will be a good foil for Raspberry Bavarian Cream. [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
