In the 1970s De Wetshof was the first registered wine estate in the Robertson Wine Valley, and has since become known internationally as South Africa’s signature Chardonnay house. This example explains why. Very pale lemon yellow in colour, the aromas exude lovely orchard fruits overlaid with gently smoky oak and lemon and orange blossom accents. The pristine, linear palate shows racy acidity and good concentration in a pretty, elegant style. Good value and perfect for a typical Chinese dim sum lunch. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
