The Deen range honours Deen De Bortoli, who was fascinated by his father Vittorio’s winery from the time he could walk and left school at aged 15 to pursue a forward-thinking, energetic strategy to develop De Bortoli’s ranges. This wine, medium yellow-gold in colour, shows white peach and apricot fruit with orange zest, marmalade and acacia honey accents. Sweet, but not unctuous, despite 237g/l r.s., the mid-weight palate has good density balanced by crisp acidity and a sappy, caramel-like finish. Excellent choice for tarte tatin.
