The estates were planted in 1979 in Xiropotamos on the slopes of Mount Falakro, the first modern trellised vineyard in Drama. The wine, a fumé style from some of the earliest plantings of Sauvignon, is pale lemon-green in colour with ripe orchard fruits and creamy oak. Dry and vibrantly flavoured, the palate is mid-weight and gently spicy, with lively acidity and good length. A really interesting wine to pair with whiting and mussels, onion and carrots in a very light curry sauce. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
