Tasting notes:

Planted solely with Riesling since 1720, Schloss Johannisberg was designated a single exclusive vineyard in 1971. A \'modern classic\', Grosses Gewächs Trocken, this wine has a medium yellow-gold hue and apricot, orange and forest honey flavours with a hint of buttered toast. Concentrated, the off-dry palate is framed by racy acidity and shows great definition and chalky minerality, no doubt derived from the Taunus quartzite soil.  An excellent match is risotto cake with smoked trout, sauce gribiche and roasted radicchio.
