Tasting notes:

 Based in Ürziger Würzgarten, the oldest recorded vineyard in the Mosel, Doktor Lippold produces a wide range of stunning Rieslings. This example hails from the \'Hoch\' (high altitude) portion of the vineyard with 70+ year-old own-rooted vines. A miracle wine from a \'miracle terroir\', the wine has a pale lemon-yellow colour with white peach, dried apricot and orange zest with a delicate acacia honey overlay. Medium-sweet on the palate and framed by racy acidity, the wine is light-bodied but intense in flavour and beautifully balanced. An interesting pairing is gently curried creamy prawns served in vol-au-vents.   [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
