Lagler dominates this terraced site of Steinporz, one of the best vineyards in the Spitz area, comprising decomposed gneiss soil and a steep aspect towards the river. Medium yellow-gold in colour, the aromas are rather exotic, showing ripe apricot, yellow peach and white cherry fruit and orange blossom, honey, and petrol undertones. Just dry and very spicy, the mid-weight palate flavours are balanced by lively acidity and creamy texture. An excellent choice for whole poached salmon. [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
