Tasting notes:
Mirto is a wine only made in exceptional years from old vines in eight villages near Haro in Rioja. This example, deep ruby-purple in hue, shows Victoria plums and red and black berry fruit with creamy oak and a touch of tobacco. Dry and refined, the palate has crisp acidity and linen-textured tannins, with flavours and structure well-integrated and balanced. With attractive spices across the palate, this wine would suit seared pepper steak with mixed wild mushrooms. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
