A definite step up from Casillero del Diablo’s entry-level wine, this spectacular wine, deepish ruby in colour, shows concentrated dark plum and blackcurrant character with cedar wood undertone and a black pepper note. Mid-weight and seamlessly balanced, the palate has brisk acidity and velvet tannins supporting the flavours. Well-integrated, with kitchen spices adding interest. An incredible bargain, very more-ish, the wine is a good match for Savoyard tartiflette. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
