Tasting notes:
The Viña La Rosa estate is located at Peumo in Cachapoal Valley and is one of the oldest wineries in Chile, established in 1824. It is still owned and operated by the Ossa family. This mid-priced wine, medium ruby-coloured with a cherry rim, shows juicy red berries with accents of vanilla, sweet red pepper, smoked paprika and blackcurrant leaf. The palate flavours have good definition and are supported by fresh acidity and linen-textured tannins. An attractive wine that will work nicely with Spanish paella. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
