Bodega Mauricio Lorca aims for high sustainability standards throughout every part of its process. The bodega has gone well beyond the Sustainability Protocol of Argentina. This Malbec originates from three vineyards at altitudes of 1,050m–1,250m in the Tunuyán area of the Uco Valley: Los Inicios, Los Altepes and Los Barrancos. Deep purple in hue, the wine exhibits ripe blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, accented by tobacco oak and aromatic violet lift. The palate is full-bodied, with lively acidity and dense, velvet textured tannins, and intriguing notes of lemon and orange zest. An attractive wine that will match oxtail braised slowly with root vegetables in red wine with a dash of soy sauce. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
