Tasting notes:
For those who love ‘serious’ rosé, this is a must. Hailing from Naoussa in Greece, it employs the country’s native Xinomavro grape – meaning ‘acidblack’ – and a touch of new oak to yield a pretty and punchy pink wine that could go with almost anything – but especially the nation’s famous salad, mixing feta, black olives, tomatoes and cucumber. As for the rosé’s key characters, they range from ripe white peach to yellow cherry, allied to notes of hazelnuts, toasted marshmallow, then some grilled almonds and ripe citrus. The finish is gently fresh and finely phenolic, ensuring that this powerfully-flavoured rosé is a mouthwatering drink. (Patrick Schmitt MW)
