Tasting notes:

Ventisquero Grey Carmenere pays homage to the grey glaciers that once covered Chile and Patagonia, and which retreated to leave deep alluvial soils with plenty of sand, silt and stones. Deepish ruby-coloured, the wine exudes Victoria plum and cherry fruit with vanilla oak and hints of peppermint, allspice and cardamom seeds. Mid-weight, the palate shows juicy fruit supported by brisk acidity and savoury tannins. Well-defined and with a sappy finish, this would match babyback ribs in a Hispanic-style mole sauce.
