Tasting notes:
The Dewaldt Heyns story began when Dewaldt\'s grandfather bought a small farm in Paardeberg and continued through Dewaldt\'s father Cecil\'s \'weathered hands \'until the legacy fell to the third generation, Dewaldt himself and his young family. This Chenin was first produced in 2009. The wine is a wonderful expression of Swartland. Pale lemon-hued, the aromatics show white peach, white cherry with lemon and vanilla overtones. The light-bodied palate has racy acidity, nicely integrated oak and a honey nuance. Well-defined and lingering, the wine will be a good match for trout with rosemary and lemon.
