Tasting notes:

Quite deep cherry-coloured with a frothy rim, the wine is a fascinating, and unusual, example of gently sparkling red wine from Piemonte. Packed with blackberry fruit, with accents of black pepper and crushed American Beauty roses, and a tiny hint of yeast, the palate is medium-dry in sweetness and quite light-bodied. Crisp acidity and a little tannin give structure and balance to the vibrant fruit. Surprisingly delicious and moreish, it would pair well with barbecued pork and rice. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
