Tasting notes:
From a rare grape native to Sardinia, traditionally used to make passito wines, comes this delicious, bone dry offering. Deep amber in colour, it has a nose of blood oranges, bright floral notes and kumquats. In the palate it is very textural, with a honeyed silkiness combined with a slight salinity and tannic grip. Very much a food wine, and would be very versatile there, working with grilled fish, baked chicken or – perhaps my favourite – grilled aubergines with garlic, mashed chickpeas, yoghurt and thyme.
