Tasting notes:

n South Africa, water is of paramount importance, and the Dalkeith watering hole lies deep within the Kgalagadi, pictured on the artistic label. This wine hails from one of three vineyard sites, Jakkalsfonstein in Swartland, known for its finely ground, granitic soils. Deepish purple-pink in colour, the wine exhibits blackberry, blueberry and black plum fruit, with vanilla oak accents. Just about dry, the palate has very fresh acidity and grippy tannins supporting the flavours. Mid-weight and refined, this is a perfect wine for herbed pork chops served with puréed potatoes and steamed kale. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
