Tasting notes:
The history of Koelenhof began in 1941 when a group of wine-growers formed a co-operative with Pieter Hugo de Vries as their first manager and winemaker. Now headed up by Pieter\\\\\\\'s grandson Andrew Smit de Vries, the co-operative continues to produce outstanding wines. This expressive wine has a pale yellow hue and lemon custard and apricot fruit with lemon zest, cream and smoky oak accents. Dry, the mid-weight palate flavours are framed by racy acidity. A lovely, textural wine with good length and a spicy finish. Perfect to match trout baked with white wine and slices of lemon, fresh rosemary and garlic. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
