Tasting notes:

 ‘Good Wine from a Good Place’ is more than a ‘strap-line’ for Spier Wine Farm. Facing the False Bay cliffs, the vineyards benefit from the southeasterly winds. A working farm since 1692, Spier tends its Stellenbosch vineyards, nestled under the granite cliffs, with great care and bio-diversity as a principle goal. Selected from the sea-facing coastal vineyards, this wine has a bright lemon-yellow hue and shows crunchy yellow fruit character with vanilla-cream accents. Ripe fruit on the palate but balanced by very crisp acidity, there is good concentration with sappy-savoury texture and hints of allspice adding significant interest. Light in style with gently warming alcohol, this would match seabass in a lemon-lime sauce. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
