Tasting notes:

Produced by world-renowned Banfi from three plots of the Marrucheto vineyard, with marine clay-loam soils ranging from yellow-brown to reddish-brown in colour, this fantastic wine demonstrates how relevant single-vineyard and selected-parcel Brunello can be. Bright ruby-hued, the wine exhibits ripe strawberries and wild cherry fruit, with toasty wood, cigar box and mocha accents. Dry, but sweet-fruited and rich, the palate is bolstered by crisp acidity and grippy tannins, with great varietal definition and a smoky-spicy finish. Youthful, the wine will suit duck à la Verdi: duck breasts roasted with onions, carrots, prosciutto and rosemary.  (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
