Tasting notes:

Principi di Butera is located in central-south Sicily. The vineyards are only about 10km from the sea and so are moderated by sea breezes. This beautiful sparkling rosé is the first produced from the autochthonous variety, Nero d’Avola, using the Metodo Classico. An unparalleled success, the wine displays a very pale peach hue with medium-sized bubbles and pretty, red berry fruit, with yellow flower overlay and gentle bready yeast. Brut-style, the palate is light and lively with creamy mousse texture, nice definition and lengthy finish. An attractive wine to be paired with sautéed bay scallops in a crème fraiche, lemon and parsley sauce on angel-hair pasta. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
