Tasting notes:
Wirra Wirra’s own McLaren Vale Chook Block vineyard was planted in 1960 and named after a really old chicken coop. In the best years this wine is vinified and bottled separately. Deep ruby-purple in hue, the wine displays dark berries, morello cherries and wild strawberries, with meat and dark chocolate overtones. Full-bodied, the palate has lively acidity and dense, velvet-textured tannins, with exotic spices and a mouthwatering finish. A great wine to pair with roast leg of lamb. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
