Tasting notes:
This wine is named after the historic property established by Scottish immigrants in 1892. Much later, Bill Taylor purchased the long abandoned Clare Valley property and re-established the vineyards. The first St Andrews wines were released in 1999. This vintage, deep ruby in colour, has concentrated black fruits, accented by roasted coffee and ash, with a floral lift. The palate is complex and intense, with bracing acidity and linen-textured tannins supporting the flavours. Layered and complex, nuances of spice, ash and meat come through. A gorgeous wine that works well with garlicky roasted lamb shoulder. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
