Tasting notes:

Since producing its first Cap Classique wine in 1984, Villiera has become well recognised as a leading sparkling wine producer in South Africa and beyond. This wine has an average of 18 months’ lees ageing, most obvious in the buttered toast accents overlying the ripe apple, peach and yellow plum fruit. Brut style, the palate shows racy acidity and mouth-filling mousse to balance the flavours. A minor-key astringent note adds a little extra structure to the palate and finish, suggesting that this wine will be a good partner for snapper with artichoke stuffing. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
