Tasting notes:
Based at Luddesdown in Kent, Silverhand is named after the 1st-century King Ludd of the Trinovantes, whose hand was lost in battle. He was stripped of his sovereignty until a perfectly-tooled silver hand was made for him. This wine is also perfectly constructed. Pale lemon-green in colour with tiny bubbles, the wine shows lovely, fresh yeast autolysis overlaying lemon and lime fruit with a hint of white flowers. Ultra-brut in style, the light-bodied but concentrated palate has bracing acidity and creamy mousse texture supporting the flavours. Integrated, textured and complex, the wine will pair nicely with prawn, diced courgette and sliced courgette blossom risotto. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
