Tasting notes:

Located on the upper slopes of the Simonsberg mountain, Tokara’s home vineyard and olive grove look out over False Bay and Table Mountain. This wine, a Bordeaux blend with a significant dose of Petit Verdot to complement Cabernet and Merlot, is fantastic. Deep purple-ruby in colour, the wine exhibits ripe blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, with toast and roast coffee overtones. The palate is packed with plummy flavour, supported by brisk acidity and satin-textured tannins. Black pepper and meaty notes add complexity. A South African classic, such as springbok leg steaks, marinated in buttermilk and rosemary, and seared on the braai, is a superb pairing. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
