Tasting notes:
Mid-garnet in colour, this has a clean and fresh nose, remarkably youthful, dark blackberry fruit with a hint of pepper. Initially quite closed, this opened up wonderfully on retasting, suggesting that it would benefit from at least two more years’ cellaring, or decanting an hour or two before drinking. On the palate it is full bodied, with warm alcohol, grainy tannins and a deep, ripe fruit core. (Siobhan Turner MW)
