Tasting notes:
Located in the Languedoc, between the Mediterranean and the foothills of the Cévennes and a mere 19km from the coast, is this well-regarded château. Reestablished by Gérard Bru, a descendant of the original owners, in 1981, the vineyard estate comprises 150 hectares of alluvial soils on a limestone base. The red and rosé wines are based on Mourvèdre, with Grenache and Syrah. Very, very pale pink-peach in hue, the wine shows raspberry, strawberry and white cherry fruit with a creamy accent. Dry and light bodied, the palate has crisp acidity, and good flavour definition and length. The lingering finish with its hint of spice suggests pairing with Dover sole meunière.
