Tasting notes:

This massive wine impresses on so many levels. For a start, there’s the concentration from the fruit – sweet blackcurrant and fleshy cherry – and then there’s the density of tannin structure, which lingers and coats with its lovely, fine-grained texture. Added to this is the burnt sugar, roasted coffee and vanilla pod character from the new oak. But if that sounds like it might be a bit too much, there’s a floral edge, a hint of raspberry leaf and a dry, mouthwatering character too. (Patrick Schmitt MW)
