Tasting notes:

Founded in 1890, J Garcia Carrión is now the largest wine producer (and second-largest fruit juice producer) in Europe. The company makes wine in 10 DOP regions in Spain from myriad grape varieties and in different styles, and the wines are high quality, from inexpensive to top-priced. This Cava has a pale gold hue with streams of tight bubbles, and green and golden apples accented by brioche and slightly earthy tones. Brut-style, the palate is mid-weight, supported by crisp acidity and brittle mousse. Gently spiced with a white pepper nuance, the wine has good definition and length. A great wine to match a Hispanic-inspired dish, such as spicy cornmeal-encrusted prawns with marinated tomatoes and three cheeses, wrapped in flour tortillas.  (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
