Located in the heart of Prosecco in Valdobbiadene, Mionetto was founded in 1887 by Francesco Mionetto. ‘Passion, tradition and excellence’ are the watchwords of this fine producer, and this example embodies those aims. Very pale silver lime leaf green in colour with persistent bubbles and a narrow cordon, the wine shows greengage and white peach fruit with a fresh yeast nuance. Off-dry, the light bodied, elegant palate is linear in style with racy acidity and silky mousse texture leading to a lingering finish. An exquisite aperitif to accompany charcuterie, olives and ciabatta dipped in quality olive oil. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
