The latest Belle Époque is a delicious combination of rich, leesinfluenced characters and fresh, zesty fruit, making it wonderful now, but also a cellar-worthy fizz. Flavour-wise there’s plenty of nutty, yeasty, creamy characters – even a touch of vanilla pod – matched to a touch of ripe apple, even white peach, before firmer, fresher notes take over, from grilled lemon to grapefruit pith, then a dry note of chalk dust.
