Tasting notes:
A Pinot Noir from Oregon that captures the grape’s appeal so well – the delicate, just-ripe cherry and strawberry flavours, the hint of jam-like sweetness, as well as an affinity for fine French oak, which provides that ohso-complementary lick of creamy vanilla, toast and dry tannin. Then there’s the mouthfeel, which is light but not thin, smooth, but not without grip, and the acidity, which is soft like ripe oranges, not hard like bitter citrus pith. The alcohol is in check too – despite the ripeness – providing body, but not excessive warmth. In short, a delicious and refreshing wine. (Patrick Schmitt MW)
