Tasting notes:

A consistent star in our Pinot Masters, this Torres estate in California never fails to make the Gold grade. This example from 2019 is showing a little bit of development, with some orange glints in the glass, and some stewed cherry, along with a touch of blood orange, but there’s also rich fruit too, even some raspberry jam, then toasted marshmallow from barrel ageing to match. The finish brings surprising freshness and, despite the 14.5% ABV and ripe fruit, this is a wine that slips down the throat all too easily. Delicious. (Patrick Schmitt MW)
