Tasting notes:
Established by Adriano Dal Bianco in 1946, Masottina continues to be a name to conjure with in the village of Ogliano, part of Conegliano. This wine is dedicated to Calmaggiore, the main thoroughfare through Treviso, and is the most classic of Masottina’s styles. Very pale lime-green in colour, it exudes aromas of green grapes and white peaches, with overtones of fresh yeast, green herbs and white flowers. Off-dry, the elegant palate displays lively acidity and a silky mousse, light body and a sappy finish. The wine works well as an aperitif, but also with lemon sponge cake. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
