This expression from Bijou offers proof that the Languedoc is able to produce fine, if full, Pinot for a keen price. Mixing barrel-sourced milk chocolate notes with a mix of wild strawberry and morello cherry, there’s plenty to like in this medium-weight red, including a tight tannic grip that brings a mouthwatering edge to the finish. A bit of a benchmark for Pinot priced around £15 – and only 13% ABV. (Patrick Schmitt MW)
