Tasting notes:

The Kaesler family from Silesia emigrated to Australia in the 1840s and established vineyards in 1891. These very old vineyards, acquired by Ed Peters and his partners in 1999, produce exceptional grapes, and nowadays are fashioned into superb wines under the direction of chief winemaker Tim Dolan. All who have produced this exceptional wine deserve kudos. Deep ruby-cherry in hue, it shows bright blackcurrant fruit with overtones of vanilla, milk chocolate and roasted coffee beans. Quite linear in style, the wine is beautifully put together, with multiple layers and great texture, and the flavours are nicely balanced with freshness and supple tannins. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
