Tasting notes:
Established by Giustino Bisol and his cousin Luciano Ruggeri in 1950, Ruggeri is celebrating its 75th anniversary, and with this wine has produced a beautiful Valdobbiadene Superiore Brut. Named after the four elements (fire, earth, air and water), Quartese is fascinating. Pale lemon-yellow with a wide cordon, the wine has juicy, yellow orchard fruits and a hint of buttered toast. Brut-style, the mid-weight palate is supported by crisp acidity and velvet-textured mousse. Showing well-defined fruit and good integration with a savoury finish, the wine will match sole fillets with shrimps and artichoke hearts. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
