Tasting notes:

Although much of Touriga Nacional in the Upper Douro is used to make fine Port wines, in recent years Touriga Nacional grapes from some of Quinta do Noval’s best vineyards have been used to produce this concentrated, elegant and aromatic dry red wine. Deep ruby-purple in colour, the wine shows very youthful dark berry fruit with black pepper, crushed red roses and creamy oak undertones. Sweet-fruited, rich and full bodied, the palate is supported by fresh acidity and sturdy tannins. Well integrated oak helps to give good balance and length. Although youthful, the wine will match nicely with duck breasts in a morello cherry sauce.  (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
