Tasting notes:
The High Weald, with its mild climate and sandstone-dominated soils, is a fabulous terroir for Chardonnay. And this wine, aged for almost four years on the lees, is stunning. Pale lemon-yellow with small, persistent bubbles, the wine shows apples, pears and fresh yeast, with a hint of acacia honey. The palate is quite light bodied and linear, exhibiting crisp acidity and a brittle mousse texture supporting crunchy fruit: lemon-lime and pink grapefruit. Beautifully defined, this is a good wine for coquilles St Jacques. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
