With passion for the High Weald East Sussex country air, dogs and fine wines, the Busi-Jacobsohn family crafts fantastic English fizz, regularly awarded by the drinks business, from classic grape varieties grown on their sandstone-dominated soils. This example is a gem. Pale gold in colour with tiny bubbles, the wine shows plenty of red berries and yellow apples with toasty autolysis. Brut-style, the palate is linear and light-bodied, with racy acidity and a satin-textured mousse. Slightly spicy on the mid-palate, with a lingering finish, the wine is a great pairing for crab stuffed savoury crêpes with a light cream sauce. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
