Tasting notes:

An absolutely stunning wine, perfectly poised now, but with years ahead of it. Deep ruby, it has just a touch of purple showing its youthfulness, despite six years of age. The nose is gloriously complex, with hints of rhubarb, black cherries and plums, tobacco leaf and peppercorn, dried herbs and a touch of dark chocolate and citrus zest. The palate is lively and silky, fresh, with a lovely textured finish, long and spicy. It develops beautifully in the mouth, with an elegant balance and wonderful length. I was lucky enough to take our sample bottle home, and it was still utterly delicious two days later, showing the life ahead for this fabulous wine. We all felt this Australian drop was the deserved “best in show”, and a true example of how exquisite Cabernet Franc can be. Well worth the money.  (Siobhan Turner MW)
