Tasting notes:
Thirty Bench is a small-lot winemaker under the Niagara Escarpment, with vineyards on shale and decomposed granite. From old vines dating back to 1980, this Riesling is a genuine ‘tiny-lot’. Pale lemon-coloured, the wine shows green apple, peach and honey, with subtle creamy oak overtones. Medium dry (23.5g/l residual sugar), the light-bodied palate flavours are framed by lively acidity. Well-defined, with good length and plenty of interest, the wine will pair nicely with crabmeat ravioli, with a thyme-olive oil drizzle. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
