Tasting notes:

At the winery in Fuenmayor on the south side of the Ebro river in Rioja Alta, Pagos del Rey grows Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo grapes for this wine. Deep ruby-hued, the wine exhibits plenty of cherry and pomegranate fruit with vanilla, buttercream and croissant accents. Dry and mid-weight, the palate has bracing acidity and grainy tannins, balanced by creamy oak. With a savoury finish and a creamy texture, this is a wine destined for a fragrantly spiced, fresh tuna-stuffed tomato in Logroño. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
