Tasting notes:
An outstanding, fine, barrel influenced white wine from Rioja that makes for a wonderful alternative to Bourgogne blanc – not that this delicious drop is made with Chardonnay, nor the more common Riojan white grape Viura, but the niche and native Tempranillo Blanco. Flavour-wise it’s a wonderful mix of comice pear, white-fleshed peach and juicy tangerine, overlaid with notes of creamy vanilla, toast and a hint of freshly struck matchstick, before finishing with a persistent note of rock salt and grilled lemon, followed by a chalk-like fine grip, which gives a dry edge to its mediumweight texture.
