Tasting notes:

The Neufeld vineyard site, in Illmitz on the north shores of the Neusiedlersee,gives the grapes for this lovely Goldmuskateller eiswein (ice wine). Paleyellow with green lights, the wine is aromatic, showing apricot, yellow plum,with orange blossom, azalea and honey overtones. Sweet, but not luscious(146g/l residual sugar), the palate is well-defined, with brisk acidity and alight body. Gentle caramelised almond and hints of lychee and spices addcomplexity. A very pretty wine that will be delicious with lighter cheeses(goat crottin, Wensleydale) or whipped cream chilled strawberry mousse.(Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
