Tasting notes:

Sandeman is renowned for its aged tawny ports and this wine, coming from the classic tradition, has an average of 10 years in oak. The blend displays a lovely balance between youthful freshness, aged bouquet and flavours. Mid-tawny with garnet rim, this tawny port has dried apricots, nuts and hints of red cherry fruit and raisin with cedarwood and violet accents. The mid-weight though warming palate is sweet with the aromatic flavours supported by crisp acidity, supple tannins and well-integrated alcohol. The lingering finish has plenty of spice, suggesting that this will work nicely, slightly chilled, with fruit tarts or zabaglione, or simply as an after-dinner drink. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
